Accademia Italiana Skopje RSS News As a part of Skopje Summer Festival, the students from the three academic programs presented their works in the Museum of Contemporary art in Skopje. The event that took place on 9th July, proved the leading position of Accademia Italiana Skopje on the market of fashion and design high education in Republic of Macedonia. The general theme, was the same with the one of the final presentation in Florence, organised earlier in April same year. More than 150 diverse items (drawings, photos, interior, product and graphic design projects, clothing and furniture prototypes etc) were presented on the exhibition and some 60 outfits made the program of the fashion show. The best students for the academic year 2008-09 were awarded by Dr. Vincenzo Giubba, president of Accademia Italiana. http://www.ais.edu.mk/poveke.php?id=32 The students of the Accademia Italiana Skopje participated in the fashion show and exhibition held in Florence on April 17, 2008. The fashion show in Florence hosted 2,500 invited guests coming from all over the world, including many prestigious fashion houses. In the previous day the Skopje students also participated in a workshop-encounter with Vivienne Westwood, a fashion designer famous worldwide for her transgressive style who presented her manifesto “Active Resistance to Propaganda”. The theme was “Modern versus vernacular”, with comparative study of modern living spaces, designed by significant architects and traditional approach in space design (no name authors). http://www.ais.edu.mk/poveke.php?id=30 By the invitation of the Italian Embassy in Republic of Macedonia, students of Accademia Italiana Skopje participated in the event that celebrates the Italian culture worldwide. The theme of the annual presentation was “the sea”. Students presented them-selves with the conceptual exhibition based on the research of the sea-side accessories, equipment and furniture and with fashion show that demonstrated the historical development of the bathing costumes from the mid XIX century till present days. http://www.ais.edu.mk/poveke.php?id=29 The multitalented Italian architect Cesare Pergola, with wide experience in interior and product design and visual art, held the workshop that was focused on the methodology of development of design idea and its transformation in the final product.
